Exhibitions, Umberto Passeretti, un presente antichissimo - an ancient present

Exhibition dedicated to Umberto Passeretti, who as fully contemporary painter communicates with the classical Roman and more generally with the memory of antiquity

Since 1985 Umberto Passeretti, fully contemporary painter, talks with the classical Roman and more generally with the memory of antiquity. Precisely for this reason, an emblematic place of the "Roman world" as the Trajan Markets Museo dei Fori Imperiali is the most suitable location to host about twenty of his works, in the Great Hall and in the Main Building.
On the occasion of the exhibition, curated by Gabriele Simongini, the Roman artist has created a homage to this extraordinary place taking as a subject of one of his paintings a "Prison". The works are part of the cycle "Anatomy of the drapery ". In its work, the sculptural finds of the past are transformed into painting, with a clear prevalence of draperies, throbbing of a new life that seems almost ready to begin.
