Appunti di Viaggio. Fotografare sulle orme di Goethe

<br>The Casa di Goethe Museum presents an exhibition of the German photographer Barbara Klemm who has followed the footsteps of the artist and traveler Goethe , contemplating the subjects chosen by the poet with a today's look. The first solo exhibition in Italy of the frankfurt artist shows a selection of 45 photographs in black and white.

In 2012, the ALTANA Kulturstiftung-founding of Bad Homburg had invited Barbara Klemm to photograph the places that the poet had described in pen and ink on the occasion of his travels and of his excursions in Bohemia, Germany, Switzerland and Italy. The goal was not their faithful reproduction in photography, but her subjective experience. Thus the works created by Klemm are characterized by a very personal and unconstrained vision that shows how landscape photography is much more than a mere imitation of seen things.

For decades, Barbara Klemm has told the history with high-impact images, taken by the famous newspaper Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung. She is the author of The famous "Soviet Kiss" between Leonid Bresnev and Erich Honecker in 1979. Klemm is a member of the Berliner Akademie der Künste and honorary professor at the University of Darmstadt. Since 2011 she is member of the Order "Pour le Merite".
