Balthus

With this major exhibition, divided into two places, Rome celebrates Balthasar Klossowski de Rola, art name Balthus, fifteen years from death. One of the most original and enigmatic maestro of the 20th century, whose relationship with the eternal city was decisive for the adress of his art.
About Two hundred works including drawings, paintings and photographs from the most important European and American museums and from private collections. The exibhition itinerary is divided into two segments:
The first into Scuderie del Quirinale, where is a complete retrospective about the most importants Balthus's masterpieces.
The second itinerary is into Villa Medici where is possible admire the works created during the roman period.This part of the exhibition sheds light on the creative process and method of Balthus: work into Atelier, the use of models and photographs.
